DeeEye, a subsidiary of ESTsoft that operates the real-time virtual fitting eyewear shopping mall ROUNZ, announced on the 24th that it has unified its corporate name to the service name 'ROUNZ' and appointed Kim Myeong-seop as the co-CEO.

The name change was planned from the early stages of the business. ESTsoft entered the commerce business by acquiring an online eyeglass shopping mall in 2017 with the aim of providing a new eyeglass purchasing experience in the eyewear service market using deep learning technology. Since then, the plan has been to integrate the corporate and service names when ROUNZ was fully established in the market and aggressive branding was required.

ROUNZ has been building recognition by changing consumers' eyeglass purchasing experiences. It has revolutionized the idea that consumers must visit an eyeglass store in person by offering an almost real-life virtual eyeglass fitting experience through a mobile app.

During this process, sales have doubled every year. The rate of virtual try-ons leading to purchases has risen to double digits, and the return rate has dropped to single digits. In March, it was the only Korean company to be selected as a representative example of an augmented reality (AR) service on the Apple Korea website, also acknowledging the innovative service.

Recently, ROUNZ has released a brand video targeting the MZ generation. At the same time, as branding activities gained momentum, it was judged that now is the best time to change the corporate name. With this name change, ROUNZ plans to develop a new O2O (Online-to-Offline) service that connects the existing online service with 10,000 eyeglass stores nationwide.

Newly appointed co-CEO Kim Myeong-seop, who took office that day, is from ROUNZ's parent company ESTsoft and ZUMinternet. He is an O2O business expert and has been leading the business at DEEP EYE. CEO Kim Se-min, who had held the position, has now passed it on to co-CEO Kim Myeong-seop, transitioning ROUNZ to a co-CEO structure with Kim Se-min and Kim Myeong-seop.

ROUNZ has created a new purchasing method called virtual fitting with the world's best augmented reality technology and is leading the innovation of the eyeglass industry."
